The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “An army will raid the Ka‘bah. When the army reaches a desert land, Allah will cause the earth to swallow every soldier.”
Aisha asked, “O Messenger of Allah, why will the earth swallow all of them?”
He ﷺ replied, “The earth will swallow all of them, but Allah will resurrect them according to their intentions.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
This hadith teaches us that Allah knows the intentions hidden in every heart. People may take part in the same action, but they may have different reasons for doing so. Some may join willingly, while others may join because of pressure, deception, or fear.
We should examine our intentions before we act. We should never follow people blindly or support wrongdoing simply because we belong to the same group. We should also avoid judging other people’s intentions because only Allah knows what they truly intend.
Allah judges every person with perfect justice. He considers each person’s intentions, choices, and circumstances. Therefore, we should ask ourselves whether we act to please Allah or to gain praise, wealth, status, or acceptance from people.
May Allah purify our intentions, guide our actions, and help us do everything sincerely for His sake. Ameen.
